Patriotic Nails

Since I probably will not have time to do anything with my nails until next week I decided I should do my 4Th of July nails if I wanted them. We have a few things planned this weekend, even though we are in Japan we still celebrate the American holidays. It is somewhat weird to get used to.
Robin Moses was a big inspiration for this design. The eagles are acrylic paint stickers that were made a few days ago with this in mind. I forgot to mirror them, so they are both facing the same way. I used two coats of Black Onyx and one coat of Blue My Mind with two coats of Alpine Snow on the ring fingers and the rest is acrylic paint and rhinestones.

Do you have any plans for the weekend?

  1. This is so creative

  2. This is awesome! How do you make acrylic paint stickers? =)

  3. Thank you!

Swaafie, they are easy. I have a tutorial on them but basically you paint on a plastic bag, I like the ziplock bags. Then cover with topcoat. When it is fully dry peel them off the plastic and place them on your nail.

  4. I love the idea of paint stickers. And I like your flag nail :)

  5. Thanks Angie and Bookworm! I love the stickers especially since you can paint them ahead of time. It makes intricate designs easier sometimes.

  6. This is GORGEOUS!! The best patriotic mani I've seen!
These home made stickers are great! I'm seriously thinking of trying something with home made stickers!
I've got to buy acrylic paint next week (I won't have the time to go shopping this week;; bouhhh)

  7. I have to agree! These are gorgeous! If I hadn't read your tutorial, I wouldn't believe the eagle is a sticker! So detailed! ♥

  8. Thanks so much, Nailderella! I forgot to mention they can be made the same way with nail polish. I just prefer the acrylic paint, it's much easier to work with.

  9. Thank you, Kayono! The stickers blend in really well.
