OPI Warm Me Up

Hey guys! A quick post today, I am tying to work through my new polish and get pictures posted. This is OPI Warm Me Up from the new Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 collection. Warm Me Up is a brown-grey with what looks like silver shimmer but when it hits light it has multiple colors. Picture is two coats with top coat.

Summer Roses

Hey guys, more bright summer nail art for today! This design was inspired by Robin Moses, you can see her video here. I love this design so much that I didn't really change much about it other than using yellow on the other fingers. The yellow is Revlon Sunshine Sparkle and the blue, I believe is OPI What's With The Cattitude but I could be wrong, I honestly don't remember on that one. The roses and leaves are all done with acrylic paint.

I did the same thing on my thumbs as on the ring fingers.

Spring Flowers

Hey guys! I picked up a few of the China Glaze Avant Garden polishes a while back but with school I hadn't had a chance to try them out until yesterday. I did a flower design inspired by Robin Moses, you can see that video here, on a customer at school last week and I liked the way they turned out and wanted to try them on myself since I don't usually do flowers much.
The base is two coats of Keep Calm, Paint On which is a light mint green with shimmer. The flowers are done with acrylic paint and a bit of China Glaze white cap over the centers.

Sinful Colors Orange Cream

Hey guys, another polish from the Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection today! Orange Cream is a peachy orange, almost pink, with hidden silver shimmer. Picture is two coats with top coat.

I added a Color Club gold holographic glitter, which I think is Gingerbread from the Beyond The Mistletoe collection but not positive since I bought it in a set at T.J. Maxx and none were labeled, near the cuticle and dragged it down. It really reminds me of something exploding and raining down.

A Few Sinful Colors Sugar Rush Polishes

Hey guys! We have been having a snowstorm here and it's been coming down since yesterday afternoon. I think we've had about eight inches or so. Anyways, before all the snow hit, I took advantage of Walgreen's sale on Sinful Colors polishes and picked up three from the new Sinful Colors Sugar Rush collection.

Sugar Rush is a light blue, not really unique but I still love it. Picture is two coats with top coat.

Cotton Candy is a light pink with a hidden silver shimmer. Picture is three coats with top coat.

Sweet Tooth, my surprise favorite, is a light purple with hidden shimmer. Picture is two coats with top coat.
I almost didn't notice the hidden shimmer in some of these and actually didn't know Sweet Tooth had the shimmer until I got it home and tried it out. An added bonus, the formula on all three were good, not hard to work with for being light pastel shades.

Christmas Stripes

Hey guys, I hope you all had a wonderful week! Since I didn't get around to posting this before Christmas I figured I should at least post it before New Year. I used China Glaze Running In Circles for the index and middle finger, OPI The Spy Who Loved Me for the ring and pinky and white acrylic paint for the stripes.

OPI On Her Majesty's Secret Service vs. Sinful Colors Winter Wonder

Hey guys! First off I have been experimenting with my photos. I made a new lightbox backdrop and changed my lighting set up so it might be a few days before I get everything tuned in and you will probably see a few pictures with my old set up as well.
Anyways, I had to post this today because I was out yesterday and found Sinful Colors Winter Wonder and thought it looked similar to something I just bought. Turns out, it is. It's a very close dupe for OPI On Mer Majesty's Secret Service, though OPI might have slightly larger particles in it. They are both a blue base with blue, green, pink and gold shimmer. Pictures are three coats of Winter Wonder on my index and ring finger and three coats OPI On Mer Majesty's Secret Service on my middle and pinky finger, both with top coat. Even at one coat they look exactly the same and if I didn't know any better I wouldn't be able to tell them apart.

OPI Live And Let Die with Simple Scrolling

Live And Let Die, from the OPI Skyfall 007 collection, is a dark green base with gold shimmer, so pretty! Since I've always had trouble with scroll designs but have been practicing lately I thought it would go great with this shade and added some simple scrolling with gold acrylic paint. Picture is two coats of Live And Let Die, gold acrylic paint for the scrolling and top coat.

OPI Skyfall 007 Red and Gold Mani

I hadn't planned on really getting anything from the OPI Skyfall 007 collection but when I saw them in person there were a few I just couldn't resist. Since I haven't had much time lately I paired three together to show you today: The Spy Who Loved Me, a gorgeous red with gold shimmer; Goldeneye, a beautiful gold glitter/flake and the gold leaf top coat The Man With The Golden Gun. Picture is two coats of the The Spy Who Loved Me followed by a touch of Goldeneye on the tips and one coat of The Man With The Golden Gun on the ring finger with top coat.

What do you think of the Skyfall collection? Are you a Bond fan?

Another Pink Plaid

Hey guys, a quick post today! I've had this pink with silver shimmer Japanese nail polish I picked up at the dollar store back before we left Japan and have never tried it and couldn't get plaid out of my mind so that's what I did. While I'm not sure, I had to look it up online because the label is all Japanese, I think the name is Art Collection Salon Nails in Office Pink. It did have a website on the bottle in English that you can check out here if you like. Picture is three coats of the pink polish and the rest is acrylic paint.

China Glaze Bizarre Blurple and Make A Spectacle

Hey guys! Today I have the last two polishes from the China Glaze Wicked collection for Halloween.
Bizarre Blurple, as the name suggests, is a purple base packed with blue shimmer. Picture is two coats with top coat.

Make A Spectacle is a clear base with various sizes of iridescent glitter. I was surprised with this one, at first I thought I wouldn't care for it but now that I have tried it I really do like it. Picture is one coat of Make A Spectacle over Bizarre Blurple.

China Glaze Cast A Spell and Comparison to It's Alive

Hey guys! I have another polish from the China Glaze Wicked collection today. Cast A Spell is a dark blackened green base with green and gold shimmer. Picture is two coats with top coat. The formula was fabulous on this one, it barely needed a second coat.

And because at first I thought Cast A Spell might be close to It's Alive, the green from last years Halloween collection, I had to compare them. As you can see, they are quite different.

China Glaze Immortal

I finally spotted the China Glaze Wicked collection for Halloween yesterday in our area. At first, I wasn't loving really anything but after seeing them in person I couldn't decide which ones to get. Roguish Red is pretty boring but I loved the rest!
First up today is Immortal, it's a light grey with blue and purple shimmer. I have to say I think this might be my favorite of the collection. Picture is two coats with top coat but could have used a third in some spots.

Max Factor Fantasy Fire

Back a few months ago Esther over at Fab Fingertips kindly offered to send me a bottle of Max Factor Fantasy Fire, a said to be close match for Clarins 230 and Urban Decay Toxin, since it was on my wishlist and I couldn't be happier with it even thought it has taken me so long to try it. Fantasy Fire is a beautiful sheer purple base with red, gold and green multichrome shimmer. Picture is one coat of Fantasy Fire layered over black with top coat.

 Thanks so much Esther!

Fall No Water Marble

Hey guys, I hope you had a great weekend! We added a new member to our family, a female Alaskan Malamute, and have been getting her adjusted to her new home the past few days. Surprisingly, she is doing really well even though I think she has separation anxiety.
Today I have a no water marble design, were you drop polish on a wet base and swirl them on the nail before it dries. This is the first time I have gotten the no water method to work for me. I wanted it to resemble fall colors, sort of like fallen leaves. Barre My Soul is the base and Suzi Loves Cowboys, San Tan-tonio, Warm & Fozzie and German-icure By OPI were used for the marble on the tips.

Have you tried any marble designs, do you prefer the water or no water method?

Sally Hansen In A Flurry

Sally Hansen In A Flurry is a dark base with green/gold and purple shimmer. It has a bit of duochrome but it is hard to capture. You can see the purple on the tips of my middle and ring finger. Great polish, I really like this one. Picture is three coats with top coat. The formula was a little thin but it wasn't watery. My only issue? Every time, never fails with Sally Hansen it seems and I always forget to check, my brush had stray hairs that had to be cut off.

China Glaze Orange You Hot? with Gradient

Hey guys! Orange You Hot?, from the Summer Neons collection, is one I picked up on sale a while back from Sally's. It's a bright neon orange with orange and silver shimmer. Because it is neon it does dry matte and needs top coat to be shiny. Picture is three coats with top coat.

I had to try Orange You Hot? with L'Oreal Tweet Me sponged over the tips for a subtle gradient since they seemed great for each other.

Orly Mysterious Curse and China Glaze Haute Metal

Hey guys, I hope you are all doing well. We got the news a few days ago that my husbands grandfather passed away. I only met him for a brief time back in July but from the stories my husband always told he was an amazing person and I know he will be deeply missed, my thoughts go out to his family.
Not much to say today so it will be a quick post with lots of pictures. Mysterious Curse, another from the Orly Dark Shadows collection, is a dark blue/purple with blue shimmer. Picture is three coats with top coat, it was a little thin but nothing too bad.

Orly Buried Alive And Icing After Party

Hey, I hope you are having a great weekend! Ours has been pretty relaxing. While I was scouting out Ulta yesterday I spotted the Halloween OPI polishes and the Sally Hansen strips along with a few other brands of polish strips, hopefully the other Halloween collections will be out soon. I can't wait to start doing Halloween designs!
Buried Alive, from the Dark Shadows collection, is a brown with red, gold and maybe even a little green shimmer, It's hard to tell. I picked this up several weeks back on sale at Sally's but haven't had a chance to try it, I like it though. Picture is two coats with top coat and the formula was great.

Another polish I have been waiting to try is Icing After Party, a multi-colored shredded glitter. Picture is one coat with top coat over Buried Alive. It was a little on the thick side and the glitter has a tendency to not lay flat. It is pretty and very interesting but it's a pain to try and get the glitter flat.

China Glaze Elephant Walk

Hey! I hope you are having a great week so far. I know I am probably behind all of you but I just read The Hunger Games book over the weekend and finished watching the movie last night. I have to say, like most everyone does, the book was by far better than the movie. Have any of your read the book and watched the movie? Which did you like better?
Elephant Walk is from the China Glaze On Safari collection for fall. It's a green tinted grey with silver shimmer. The shimmer is just enough that you barely notice it unless in bright light but makes it more interesting than just the boring grey creme. My bottle was a little on the thick side and didn't even out on its own. Picture is two coats with top coat.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for a nail art tutorial!
