Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I know I haven't been around here lately and I won't make excuses. I will just try more to get back into posting here regularly.
This design is inspired by Robin Moses, you can see her video here. I used a Gelish gel polish base and top coat, all of the ornaments are done with acrylic paint.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

OPI Warm Me Up

Hey guys! A quick post today, I am tying to work through my new polish and get pictures posted. This is OPI Warm Me Up from the new Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 collection. Warm Me Up is a brown-grey with what looks like silver shimmer but when it hits light it has multiple colors. Picture is two coats with top coat.

Sugar Skull Girl with Roses and Spiderwebs

I hope you all had a fantastic day yesterday! I spent most of the day with my Husband and pups. We dressed the dogs up as Pooh Bear and Tigger, I painted my face and we took them out to the few pet stores close by. Then gave out candy to the few trick-or-treaters we had in our neighborhood.
As promised, this was my official Halloween manicure. It is mostly all inspired by Robin Moses, you can check out her YouTube channel here. I used OPI Vant To Bite My Neck? as the base. The spiderwebs, roses, and girl are done with acrylic paint with a bit of China Glaze Fairy Dust over the roses.

If you would like to see our dogs dressed up and what my face was painted as keep reading.

Halloween Black Cat, Bats, and Glitter

Happy Halloween everyone! I can hardly believe it's already here. This past year has flown by for me, I know I haven't been around much but this past year has had a lot of changes and I am thankful that you all have stuck around with me.
Anyways, today I have a simple, fun design with a cat silhouette and bats. The index and pinky fingers are OPI Emotions which is a black sand polish, I really like this one and if you haven't seen it in person you really should. The middle is China Glaze Bat My Eyes with Boo-gie Down over it. The ringer fingers are OPI A Roll In The Hague with black acrylic paint for the black cat and bats.

Here is my other hand with the bats. I messed this one up, that's life sometimes, by touching the top coat right after applying it and had to go back and redo some of it.

And last is my pumpkin, Jack, from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Do you have any plans? I will most likely be painting my face and dressing up the dogs to go out and about, then give out candy to the kids later. Check back tomorrow to see my actual Halloween mani and maybe a few other things!

China Glaze Monsters Ball

Hey guys! Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year and I love doing nail art for it. Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to devote to here or my nails really. I did pick up four of the China Glaze Monsters Ball Halloween polishes for this year a few weeks ago and am just now getting around to trying them. I know, I fail. Anyways, on to the polish.
Fang-Tastic is a clear base with blue, green, and pink glitter. Picture is two coats over a sheer, light shimmer polish with top coat.

Howl You Doin' is a rich, deep purple base with copper flakes and purple shimmer. It's very reminiscent of OPI Merry Midnight. Picture is two coats with top coat.

Bat My Eyes is a black jelly base loaded with gold glitter and a bit of orange bar glitter here and there. Picture is two coats with top coat.

Boo-gie Down is a clear base with black, orange, and white various sized hex glitter with black bar glitter as well. Picture is two coats over Agro with top coat.

What will you be doing for Halloween? Check back tomorrow for a bit of Halloween nail art and my pumpkins for this year!

Halloween Sugar Skull Girl

Wow, has it been a long time! I was catching up on a few things last week and noticed it has been forever since I posted here. I have definitely lost track of time lately.
But we all know Halloween is fast approaching here and I am super excited! I have already been doing nail art for Halloween at work. This design is inspired by Robin Moses, her video on the sugar skull girl is here. I used black for my base, the middle finger has a bit of random glitter, the ring and pinky finger are done with acrylic paint.

Have you started any Halloween designs yet, do you celebrate Halloween?

Native American Nails

Hey guys! I know, I know, I keep falling behind. I don't have any excuses really, but we did adopt a new dog nearly three weeks ago. I also apologize beforehand, my nails look not so great, they have been super sad lately!
These nails were inspired by a client. She wanted a Native American theme, she mentioned feathers, dream catchers, wolves and turquoise. After doing them for her I loved them so much I had to do them on myself.  The base is China Glaze For Audrey. The turquoise nails are a bit of blue acrylic paint and gold polish sponged on then I used the water marble technique with black polish sprayed with alcohol. The dream catcher, feathers, and wolf are all done with acrylic paint.

Roses with Chains

Hey guys! I know is has been a super long time since I posted but after visiting family and moving from working in a salon for someone else to booth renting on my own has taken a lot of my time recently and I apologize that I haven't been blogging. I am hoping now that I am getting settled into my new area that things will go back to somewhat normal.
Today I have a design I did a while back inspired by Robin Moses, you can see her video here. The base is OPI Black Onyx with a bit of gold holo glitter near the cuticle. The roses and scrolling are done with acrylic paint.

I did add chains and a small gold lion charm on the ring finger as well.

Bet You'll Never Guess What I Found...

So, the beauty supply I have been going to since getting my license had a few very nice finds. The supply is kind of a hole in the wall shop that's not well know unless you are a licensed nail tech. Since you need a license to shop there and they are a pretty old place, and it's a huge place, I'm talking a warehouse for just nail products, they had some old OPI's still in stock.
Today I have OPI DS Original, a light lavender holographic shade. It's discontinued and pretty hard to find. I have been searching for it everywhere for a few years and glad I finally found it. Picture is two coats, the formula is a bit thin and could use another coat but it is beautiful anyways.

Summer Roses

Hey guys, more bright summer nail art for today! This design was inspired by Robin Moses, you can see her video here. I love this design so much that I didn't really change much about it other than using yellow on the other fingers. The yellow is Revlon Sunshine Sparkle and the blue, I believe is OPI What's With The Cattitude but I could be wrong, I honestly don't remember on that one. The roses and leaves are all done with acrylic paint.

I did the same thing on my thumbs as on the ring fingers.

Fourth of July Nails!

Hello everyone! Today I have my Fourth of July nails to share with you. I loved the design I did two years ago, you can see that one here if you like, that I wanted to do something like it again. I based the Bald Eagle head off this picture here since I wanted a more realistic eagle for this year.
The base is Gelish gel polish in Black Shadow for the ring finger and Caution for the rest. The fireworks and eagle are all acrylic paint with the exception of the glitter, which is a glitter striper I picked up in Japan. I did the same thing on my right hand minus the eagle. I did the American flag with Gelish Arctic Freeze, Caution and OPI I'm Not Really A Waitress but didn't get a picture of it.

I hope you guys have a great week! We are off to visit my family for a while but I do have some posts scheduled.

Bright Summer Leopard

You guys all know how much I love leopard print nails! And now, since I am a licensed nail tech, I have been somewhat hooked on gel polish. So, while I was checking out the new Gelish gel polish colors over the weekend at the supply store I picked up I'm Brighter Than You and Brights Have More Fun. After I got home I thought they would be prefect to pair together for a leopard print.
I'm Brighter Than You, a neon orange, is the base and I used Brights Have More Fun, a neon coral, for the spots with black acrylic paint for the outlining and a rhinestone on each ring finger. These are so much more ridiculously brighter in person, I am in love with them!

Minnie Mouse

Hey guys! Today I have some nail art for the new OPI Couture De Minnie collection. I used Chic From Ears To Tail as the base for all fingers. On the pinky and middle fingers I did a gradient with A Definite Moust-Have followed by Black Spotted (not from the Minnie collection) over those, acrylic paint wavy lines on the thumb and index and finally Minnie Mouse on my left hand ring finger and a large bow with scrolling on my right hand ring finger.

ABU Military Print with Tutorial for Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day! Today I have a military ABU print tutorial to share with you guys. Since my husband is Air Force and deployed, coming home soon, I figured this was perfect for today! The color looks a bit darker in these pictures than it should be but it is much closer in real life.

If you would like to see the tutorial keep reading.

Simple Purple Flowers

Hey guys! I know it's been forever but I graduated and got my Nail Technician license and started working in a salon so I haven't had much time to blog. I have been doing my nails and taking pictures so I have a few to share hopefully over the next week or so and can get them posted between working.
I did these simple purple flowers a while back. The base is one of the China Glaze Holographic polishes, I was disappointed with them so I doubt I will ever really discuss them, and flowers are all done with acrylic paint and a touch of glitter over some of the flowers.

Japanese Kimono Inspired

Hey guys! I apologize for it being so quiet around here lately. I am preparing to take my state board exam for my Nail Technician license along with taking care of the girls that I have been since starting school. Plus, I had a pretty bad break on my left hand middle finger that split down the center into the quick so it's been patched until it can grow out.
But for today I have a simple design inspired by Japanese kimonos. The base is OPI Black Onyx with Color Club Gingerbread Man, followed by a loose gold holographic glitter. The flowers are done with acrylic paint and a few gold bullion beads on the ring finger for the centers of the flowers.

Summer Strawberries

Hey guys! Today I have a strawberry design inspired by Robin Moses and her Strawberry Shortcake video. I've been trying to practice flower nail art lately since starting nail school because they are a popular design theme. I used OPI  You Make Me Vroom on the ring fingers and on the tips of the rest with China Glaze Fairy Dust over it, the rest is done with acrylic paint.

Color Club Over The Moon with Leopard

Hey guys! Today I have Color Club Over The Moon, a beautiful blue strong holographic polish from the Halo Hues 2013 collection. Not much else to say about this one other than it is much better in person, but I couldn't resist adding a bit of leopard on my thumb and ring fingers. The picture below is with top coat.

Diagonal Zebra Tip Over French Tip

Hey guys! Another quick post today. I had been wanting to do a french manicure for a while but once I was done it seemed a bit too plain for me so I added the zebra print over it. OPI Glints Of Glinda is the base and OPI Alpine snow is on the tips, the zebra print is done with acrylic paint.

More Robots...

Hey guys! A super quick post today. If you saw my last post on Rainbow Honey The Robots Collection you know this design was inspired by the artwork done by Mary Winkler for it.
I used Lucky Bot on the thumb and ring finger and a gradient with Skyward Bot and Bitty Love Bot on the rest with a bit of Yoshimi over all. The robot and stars are done with acrylic paint.

Rainbow Honey The Robots Collection

Hey guys! Today I have The Robots Collection from Rainbow Honey to share with you! This collection consists of five metallic shades and a glitter topper. Dee, RH's Chief Designer, took inspiration from anime, video games, super cheesy B films, and the work of Mary Winkler for this collection.
Pictured below is the new mini 4ml bottles from Rainbow Honey. I am impressed with the mini bottles, the brushes were nice and I had no issues.

I am always blow away by the packaging and special touches by Rainbow Honey.

First up is Femme Bot, a metallic peony.

Bitty Love Bot, a beautiful metallic aqua.

 Dusty Bot, a metallic lavender.

Lucky Bot, a metallic agave. Picture below is with two coats of Yoshimi, a clear base with multiple sizes of black and white square glitter with just a sprinkling of holographic glitter.

Skyward Bot, a metallic cerulean. Picture below is with two coats of Yoshimi.

All pictures are two coats with top coat with the exception of Lucky Bot and Skyward Bot which have two coats of Yoshimi layered with top coat. The formula was great on all of these, they only needed two coats and dried very fast.
The Robot Collection is available now at RainbowHoney.com and participating retail partners around the globe in full and mini sizes. RainbowHoney.com is also offering free shipping on all orders of $50 or more, in the US and Canada, and a free secret polish, which can also be purchased separately.

Bunny for Easter with Tutorial

Hey guys! A super quick post today, I've been busy with school and not feeling well. I wanted to do an Easter design with bunnies again like last year, you can see that post here. Since I didn't do any tutorial for that post I thought I would try the same type of bunny with a small tutorial.

So, if you would like to see how to do this design, keep reading.

Spring Flowers

Hey guys! I picked up a few of the China Glaze Avant Garden polishes a while back but with school I hadn't had a chance to try them out until yesterday. I did a flower design inspired by Robin Moses, you can see that video here, on a customer at school last week and I liked the way they turned out and wanted to try them on myself since I don't usually do flowers much.
The base is two coats of Keep Calm, Paint On which is a light mint green with shimmer. The flowers are done with acrylic paint and a bit of China Glaze white cap over the centers.

St. Patrick's Day

Hey guys! I usually don't do much for St. Patrick's Day but I had a customer come in and want a design for it. She told me go for it and do whatever I liked. As I started to do green and gold with shamrocks she showed me a tattoo on the back of her neck of a shamrock surrounded by small black dots and stars and had to make it match. It turned out so well that I couldn't help but recreate it on myself!
The base is OPI Goldeneye with China Glaze Running In Circles faded on the tips and Orly Monster Mash lightly over it. The shamrock and dots are done with acrylic paint.

I Theodora You and When Monkeys Fly! Layered with What Wizardry Is This?

Hey guys! I have been super busy with school and I haven't had a lot of time for my own nails but I did pick up a few of the new OPI Oz The Great and Powerful collection polishes. The ring finger is What Wizardry Is This? and the rest is a base of I Theodora You, a light pink, followed by When Monkeys Fly!, a clear base with large gold hex glitter and small and medium holo hex glitter.
You probably know about the issues with the large gold glitter in When Monekys Fly! curling but, honestly, it wasn't that big of an issue for me. Then again, maybe I am just distracted by how gorgeous it is.

More Animal Print? Yes, More Animal Print

Hey guys, another Tiger print design today! These are always a huge hit, no matter how you do them, they are always adored. The base is OPI Alpine Snow with Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Pink Promise over the entire nail followed by Animal-istic sponged on the tips and black acrylic paint for the stripes.

Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing with Unicorn

Hey guys! It's been a long week for me. On Monday I started Nail Tech School! I wasn't sure if I was going to announce it here but thought I should. It's something I have been wanting to do for a while now and finally just decided to go for it. If everything goes as planned I should graduate the end of April or beginning of May.
Today I have Sweet Nothing, from the Sugar Rush Collection, a beautiful turquoise blue. I paired it with Unicorn, a light yellow, since they seemed to compliment each other fantastically. Picture is two coats of Sweet Nothing with Unicorn Dotted around the cuticle on my ring finger followed by top coat.
