Glow Up Already

Glitter, my precious glitter. I absolutely love this color. Glow up Already is similar to Bring on the Bling but has a light green shade as the base. This was the first glitter I put on from this collection when I first got it. It is a sort of lime green that I love and I am not sure why.
Applied well, dried fast, no issues with it at all.

Sparkle-icious

Mardi Gras! This it what this polish reminds me of.
Sparkle-icious is a bit different for the rest of the glitters in the Burlesque collection being that it only has three colors and one size glitter where the rest have multiple colors and varying sizes. That makes this glitter not as opaque.
The picture is of three thin coats and you can see a bit of VNL, other than that it applied great, and dried fast.

The Show Must Go On

This one was really hard to photograph. It leans pink, with glass flake and gold duochrome, though it is hard to see in these pictures it is easy to see in real life. This polish is perfect to me. The Show Must Go On is beautiful, easy to apply, dries quickly and it sparkles like crazy! What more could you want?

Take the Stage

Much like Rising Star, Take the Stage is a copper shade with a glass flake shimmer to it. I really like this one, copper is so pretty to me.
It applied great, dried fast, I had no issues with it.

Rising Star

Rising Star is a rich gold shade. It does have a sparkle glass flake shimmer to it also that I like. Applied very smooth, two coats gives you complete coverage and it dried fairly quick.
I only wish it went better with my skin tone. Maybe this summer when I am more out and about in the sun.

Extra-Va-Vaganza!

Orange glitter today, reminds me of Halloween. I actually used this for my Halloween manicure to add more sparkle to it.
Anyways, I can not say how much I have loved the Burlesque collection. Same thing goes for Extra-Va-Vaganza, dried fast no issues was opaque in three thin coats.

Show it and Glow It

If I had to pick just one color from the Burlesque collection I think it might have to be this. Purple glitter, why yes I don't mind if I do.
Show it and Glow It is perfect in my opinion. Picture is three thin coats, like the rest of the collection dried fast and I had no application issues what so ever. I have nothing else to say, the picture will do the talking for me.

Please excuse my hands though, acetone is really drying and apparently I forgot to moisturize before taking these pictures

Ali's Big Break

Red is not usually a color I wear very much but I have to admit I love this color. Ali's Brig Break is a beautiful red with what looks like glass flake. It is stunning, personally I think this looks way better on the nail than in the bottle! It just shines.
Application was great, dried in no time. The picture is of two coats, it could have used a third for my taste to bring out the depth a bit more but there was no real visible nail line with two.

Removing Glitter: The foil Method

Love glitter polish but hate the removal? What if you could wear glitter and remove it in less than 20 minutes with no scrubbing, scraping or frustration. There is a way, it is the foil method.
It surprises me that not many people know about this. Anyone that knows me knows I LOVE glitter or anything that sparkles or shines so its no secret that I am a sucker for glitter. It never fails though anytime I wear it someone asks "well don't you hate taking it off?" and the answer is no, it is really easy.
There is something that you will need though and it is 100% acetone. Not nail polish remover with acetone, they are not the same! You should also have small strips of foil, they don't have to be huge just enough to cover and wrap around the tip of your nail and cotton balls, toilet paper or something to soak in acetone to put in the nail.
First I like to have everything near me and ready to go, I prefer toilet paper over cotton balls, your acetone, strips of foil and you need your awesome glitter covered nails. I also like to start a tv show, movie or have a book handy while I do this.

I do this with my hand resting on something flat. Start by laying your strip of foil down with you finger in the center.

Now take you cotton balls or whatever you choose soaked in acetone and place on top of you nail.

Tightly start wrapping the foil around you finger. The easiest way for me is to start wrapping both pinkys then ring fingers and so until I get to my thumbs but you can do them in any order you like.

I wrap on the side closest to me first, then the opposite side, try to keep the foil tight and the acetone as close to the nail as possible.

Then all I do is flip the remaining edge up over the top of my nail like this.

Right about now people that you live with will look at you like you are trying to contact the mother ship but it's ok, trust me.

Once you have waited about five minutes it is time to check if you are ready. Apply light pressure to the top of the first nail you covered, miking sure to begin by the cuticle. I usually start by rubbing the foil side to side on my nail as I pull the foil off.

Presto, glitter gone! Well most of it. I usually have a little bit around the edge from not being able to get down between my nail and skin when taking the foil off, but at this point it just wipes off. If much glitter is still on you nail when you remove the foil I suggest leaving it on for one to two more minutes. Super easy glitter removal. If you haven't tried this and love glitter polish I suggest you try it at least once.
The last step is to wash you hands well and apply a good hand lotion or cream. As a word of warning acetone is very drying to the hands and nails and can make your nails more brittle and prone to breaking, please moisturize your hands after!

OPI Tease-y does It

Tease-y does it is also from the Burlesque collection. Very pretty, it looks to be a purple/brown base with red shimmer in it. It does have a bit of a duochrome gold somewhat green color to the shimmer. Tease-y does It is so much more gorgeous in person.
Drying time and formula was the same as the rest of this collection, awesome!

OPI Bring on the Bling

Such a gorgeous gold glitter I wish I liked it better with my skin tone. Basically the same as the other glitters in the Burlesque collection. Bring on the Bling was easy to work with, great coverage with three thin coats and dried fast.
I am still in love with the Burlesque collection. If you haven't picked up any of these colors I highly recommend them!

OPI Simmer and Shimmer

Not much to say about this one. I really like the light blue. At first I thought I wasn't going to get this one because it seemed close to Absolutely Alice, it is not. Simmer and shimmer is much lighter. It goes on well and dries fast as all the glitters in this collection. The picture is three thin coats but don't be like me and try to put them on to quickly as the glitter will drag. I did not notice my middle finger until I posted the picture.

Nivea Lip Care

Just a quick review on Nivea today. Over the past year I have been in love with Nivea products. I have always had chapped lips in the winter and have a horrible habit of biting my lips and making it worse. ChapStick and Carmex never did it for me, they always seemed to make my lips burn almost. I started out trying Nivea A kiss of Smoothness and loved it. I have since tried the Milk and Honey which is my favorite but is always out of stock at the store. I also like the Kiss of Cherry and Strawberry and got a sweet comment from my boyfriend on those two.
Anyways, when we went on our ski trip I forgot mine at home and I started to panic. Lucky for me though we stopped at a small store on the way out of town and they had Nivea Watering Lip Pink Veil. I don't think it is available in the states, at least I haven't seen it anywhere there but they always seem to be out of anything Nivea there. I was worried when I got it that it would be great because I have never heard of this kind. I have to say though it is fantastic as all the others I have tried. It is a bubblegum pink in the tube but does not appear on the lips to me. There really isn't a smell and it has a slight sweet taste not much of anything to notice. I am really liking this one, if feels super soft on my lips. I will have to keep my eye out for other kinds here.

Ski trip from Hell

I hope everyone had a great Christmas and a happy start to the new year! We went on a ski/snowboard trip on Saturday for the beginning of the new year and unfortunately for me it took a huge toll on my nails so my index and middle fingers are even shorter now. Plus, after we returned I have become a bit sick.
It was a fun trip once we got the the resort, thought we didn't think we were going to get anywhere. A bad storm came through and all the main roads were shut down but we didn't know at the time, we hadn't gotten any snow just a bit of rain. Once we were forced to get off the main road we thought maybe just that part hadn't been cleared yet and tried taking the back roads around to bypass that part and get back the highway. We never made it there. What should have been less than a two hour drive turned into six hours and there was no way we would have ever made it to the resort we planned so we stopped at one near where we were already at.
I really hoped to make it to the other resort but there was no way it was going to happen. Just to get to the one we finally stopped at we had to cut down trees in the road, push cars out of two feet of snow, shovel snow to turn cars around as there was only one lane drivable until finally a road crew came with chainsaws and tractor plows to remove the last few trees that we couldn't get. I am sure if they had not show up we would have been stuck there so many thanks to them!
Just to give you guys an idea of what it was like here are a few pictures. There were three cars with us, one being a huge tall van that we had to cut the limbs off of this tree so it would fit under.

I didn't get pictures of all the trees that were lying down on the road because after this one it went downhill fast and stopped being a fun adventure and we were just hoping we could make it home at that point.

At the mountain at last. They at least had great powder so after a total of nine hours travel time we stayed at the mountain about three hours.
