Sally Hansen Petrol

Hey everyone! I hope it has been a relaxing week for you because it has been a busy week for us. We are trying to close on a house in Nebraska while we visit with family so that when we return it will almost be ready for us to move into.
Today I have Petrol from the spring Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure to show you, I believe this is one of the Alexander Wang shades. It is a gorgeous deep, dark navy blue, almost black. Picture is two coats, no problems. It was creamy and easy to work with. I really like these dark almost black shades.

Do you like dark polishes that border black or do you prefer to just have black?

Funky Dunky

Hey guys! I hope everyone had a great weekend! We are in the process of buying a house and visiting family for the next few weeks so we are keeping pretty busy.
Today I have Funky Dunky which is a very vibrant, rich purple. It's another polish from the Shrek collection that came out in 2010 and I passed on the first time around but later decided I needed it. Has that ever happened to you? Picture is three coats. The formula isn't the best, it was thin and somewhat streaky but not too horrible to work with.

Revlon Chic

Hey guys! I am writing this as we fly over the Pacific ocean right now. It's really weird for me, just thought I would share that with you all! Blogger has an app for tablets that will let you write a post without needing access to the internet, pretty cool, huh? It does have it's drawbacks; you need to understand HTML code somewhat and adding pictures is a pain but it is better than nothing!
Revlon Chic is a dusty grey blue. At first I thought I wouldn't like it that much but it's really gorgeous! Picture is two coats, creamy and perfect.

I added Wet N Wild Blue Moon on the tips for fun just to see what it would look like. It looks much better in person, the picture makes it seem very unblended.

Blue/Green Gradient with Glitter

Hi guys! Anything planned for this Father's Day weekend? This is our last weekend in Japan, I'm excited to go somewhere new but at the same time sad to leave. We have a few things planned, mostly going out to eat food we probably will not be getting once we leave and hitting the mall arcade.
Anyways, I really wanted to do another gradient, I haven't done one in a while and wanted to play around. The base is Color Club Blue-Ming and I sponged on Wet N Wild Caribbean Frost on the tips. This color combination is much prettier in person, I really liked it.

And since you know I can't resist glitter I added OPI Fresh Frog Of Bel Air over the tips.

What is your favorite color combo?

Snakeskin With Tutorial

Hey, I hope you all had a good weekend! We've been busy packing out of our house and finally got moved into the hotel yesterday so will be here for the next week until we fly out.
Today I have a tutorial for snakeskin, though. If you've been around here a while you might remember the snakeskin I did several months ago, if not you can see it here. While that one turned out ok, I wasn't really satisfied with it and have been thinking of different ways to do the print without a stamp or netting. I came across this video and it worked out better than I thought it might. I did it a bit different, sponging on the color instead of coloring in each scale afterwards, but did follow the basic idea.

If you would like to see the tutorial keep reading.

Tweed Nails With Tutorial

Hi guys! I'm back again with Rumple's Wiggin' today for some nail art. I already had it on so it seemed a waste to just remove it. I saw a tweed design in one of my Japanese nail magazines, I wish I had it to take a picture and show you guys, and loved it so I finally got around to trying it.
Obviously, the base is OPI Rumple's Wiggin' and the rest is acrylic paint. I used yellow, white and black for this one. I started off with the yellow making a few lines horizontally and vertically, some crossing each other.

Next, do the same with white.

 Then, with black.

 Top coat and you're done.

Then only thing I would have done differently with these is add more colors and lines, other than that I really liked it. Have you tried tweed nails before?

OPI Rumple's Wiggin'

Hey everyone, I hope you had a great weekend! Today I have a bit of an older polish that has been sitting around for a while waiting to be tried out.
Rumple's Wiggin', from the Shrek collection back in 2010, is a very light lavender. I really like it although I am not a huge purple person. The problem I have with this polish is the formula. It isn't great, it's thin, watery and streaky which kind of makes me hate it. Picture is four coats.

Update For The Upcoming Weeks

Most of you guys know by now we are moving. Our time in Japan is over and we will be returning to the States soon. The movers are coming to pack all of our belongings the next few days with the exception of what we will be taking in our luggage on the plane when we fly out in about two weeks. In between this move across the world we are also taking thirty days of vacation time to visit family so we will be living out of our suitcases until about the end of July. Hopefully, our household things won't take long to arrive back home.
Anyways, I will still be blogging but because of moving and traveling I will have limited internet access. I have posts scheduled and a lot of photos and things to edit but I may not be able to check in for a few days at a time so please bear with me. All comments will still be moderated, if you leave a comment and it doesn't show up for several days that's why. As always, if you have a question or request the quickest, easiest way to reach me is by email. Finally, I have no plans to change my blog name as of right now and I kind of doubt I'll change it anytime soon.
That's about it for now, if anything does change I will let you guys know!

Sally Hansen White Veil

Hey guys! Do you have any exciting plans this weekend? Not really exciting for us but we are spending most of it preparing to move. Even though all of our stuff will be gone by the end of the week, for some reason, that doesn't stop me from buying new polish but it probably should.
White Veil is such an odd polish to me I just couldn't help myself. It is a clear base with small white hex glitter and medium gold hex glitter. I'm not a huge fan of gold but I really like this one, probably because there isn't much gold in it. Picture is one coat over Wet N Wild Black Creme with top coat. My index finger does have a bit of a thicker coat. You could wear this alone with probably three coats but I think it looks amazing layered like this rather than being opaque and having all the glitter mesh together.

Here is White Veil with NYC Matte Me Crazy top coat.

Do you have any odd polishes?
