Hey guys! I'm back with Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? today and a design inspired by Robin Moses. She did a geisha with cherry blossoms and newsprint a little while back and it seemed so perfect I had to try it! You can watch her video here. Of course, her design is amazing, as always, and my nails are much shorter than the set Robin did. I had less room and had to change things to fit my nails but I really love it.
At first my Japanese newspaper did not want to transfer so I went ahead and finished out my nails with the cherry blossoms and the geisha. I was so frustrated with the paper that I whined for a full day. My wonderful husband, tired of me complaining about crappy paper, went to the store down the road and bought a few different ones to try and, happily, they worked.
The base is OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? and the rest is acrylic paint and transferred newsprint.
Below is what it looked like before the newsprint.
What is one of the most frustrating things for you about doing your own nails?

DeleteThis is amazing! The small are that the nail provides is what I find frustrating sometimes. Also, when you do nail art it can blow up in your face. Like when I did the ladybugs, probably the most frustrating nail project I've done so far.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Yes, I hate when it doesn't go the way you had planned!
DeleteThis is so unique!!
ReplyDeleteYour husband is so nice, lol! I really like this one--it's definitely one of my favorite designs of yours! The most frustrating thing about my nails is their severe C-curve; even when wet, they don't relax flat. As a result, it's difficult for me to do nail art around the curve and magnetics only work on the very center of my nail. >_<
ReplyDeleteHe puts up with so much, he is great! Aww, thank you, ANA! Ugh, I know what you mean, the c-curve on my right side of my right index is especially horrid! Sometimes it is hard to get a good photo of some designs.
DeleteThese are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Deleteohh this is such a cool idea! love it to pieces ^^
ReplyDeleteLove your cherry blossums!!

Deletestunning job! looks great both ways! those cherry blossoms are PERFECT!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteNice~ It really reminds me of some old Japanese picture scroll <3 I read somewhere that the newspaper has to be "fresh". I tried to use some Japanese newspaper I brought from my last trip and it didn't work. And here I wanted Kanji on my nails so badly, haha.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kayono! I guess, the first set I tried barely did anything!
DeleteThis is fabulous, I love the detail!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteThese are awesome, love them!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteYou can do my nails when you get home in return I won't make sugar cookies!! The nails are awesome. Ruthy said oh I need to meet her
ReplyDeleteLol, thanks! Yeah, let's not do that. Ha, she has met me.
DeleteFirst I've seen the manicure "More Cherry Blossoms, Geisha, And Newsprint", then this one :-) They are both really really beautiful! :-)
